Lake Charles officer honored for heroism

Last week, KPLC reported on a missing elderly woman found in a ditch by a determined Lake Charles Police officer.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, during the Lake Charles City Council meeting, Officer Ryan Magee was honored by both Mayor Randy Roach and the council.

Magee was honored for his determination and heroic actions that saved the elderly woman who has dementia.

When Magee found the woman, she was partially submerged in the ditch water and was suffering from hypothermia.

Magee was awarded a certificate and a plaque for his heroism.

The Sulphur Police Department has reported that on Dec. 6 officers of the department investigated four traffic accidents reporting no injuries and issued seven traffic citations.

Officers also responded to several other incidents resulting in five arrests:

The Sulphur Police Department has reported that from Dec. 4-5 officers of the department investigated two traffic accidents reporting no injuries and issued one traffic citation.

Officers also responded to several other incidents resulting in four arrests:

Brenda Ann Thibodeaux, a White Female, 56, of Sulphur, was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for disturbing the peace by public intoxication.

The following is a news release from the Lafayette Police Department:

During the months of September, October and November of 2012, Lafayette Police received reports of several counterfeit checks that were negotiated within the Lafayette area. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that similar checks were negotiated in Calcasieu Parish.

The Sulphur Police Department reported that from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3 officers of the department investigated fifteen traffic accidents reporting five injuries and issued twenty-five traffic citations.

Officers also responded to several other incidents resulting in eleven arrests:

Marcos Gabriel Latalladi, a White Male, 27, of Sulphur was arrested and booked into the Sulphur City Jail for simple burglary.

The Sulphur Police Department has reported that from Nov. 21 to 26, officers of the department investigated 9 traffic accidents reporting no injuries and issued 29 traffic citations.
