Changes to Mardi Gras Parade route and lighted boat parade time in Lake Charles

Road Construction at the intersection of Ryan and Broad Streets in downtown Lake Charles is causing Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana and City of Lake Charles officials to make an adjustment to this year’s Mardi Gras parade route.

Floats will depart Bord du Lac Drive at the Lake Charles Civic Center and veer left onto Mill Street. Revelers will then turn right onto Ryan Street from Mill Street. The convoys will continue south down Ryan Street to the parades’ end at Sale Road.

This change in the route will affect the Merchants’ Parade (Friday, February 17th), Children’s Parade (Sunday, February 19th), Hot Rods, Motorcycles and Classics Parade and the Krewe of Krewes’ Parade (Both on Tuesday, Feb. 21).

The Lighted Boat Parade at the Lake Charles Civic Center on Sunday, February 19th has been moved up to 7:00 p.m.
